Entry Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Systems and Body & Paint Maintenance

Destinations:

Successful completion of the Entry Level 3 Diploma will give you basic knowledge.

Overview of the course:

This course is for Candidates wanting to develop some of the key practical skills and understanding relating to motor vehicle systems. The qualification covers a variety of automotive related areas. The course is split 50/50 over both classroom based theory lessons and workshop based practical activities.

Entry requirements:

There is no minimum entry requirement for the Entry Level 3 course.

Topics:

The Diploma is made up of 10 units including: vehicle lubrication systems, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, vehicle electrical systems, ignition systems, transmission systems, braking systems, steering and suspension systems, wheels and tyres, manufacturing and bench skills.

How is the course assessed?:

The course is Portfolio based and is assessed by observation of practical tasks carried to a satisfactory standard and by unit based knowledge questions at the end of each unit.

Progression options:

Once the Entry Level 3 Diploma course has been fully completed the candidate can move onto the Level 1 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles.

Fees:

If you're a full time student under the age of 19 you will not usually need to pay any course fees.

If you are aged 19-23 years old you may be required to pay fees for your course, however if you do not already have an Entry level 3 qualification, or you are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance in the Work Related Activity Group, your fees may be paid by the Government.

If you are aged 24 or over you may be required to pay fees for your course, however if you are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance in the Work Related Activity Group, your fees may be paid by the Government.
