Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating

The plumbing industry is a key part of the UK’s construction industry. It is a highly competitive field that employs skilled craftspeople and technicians who work with a wide range of materials and technologies.This qualifications enables learners to become competent to industry standards in domestic plumbing and heating.


Entry Requirements
Successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating and have demonstrated the ability to achieve a Level 3 qualification.

Candidates must have four GCSEs grades A* to C, which must include Maths and English or Level 2 in Functional Skills in Maths and English.

What areas are covered by the course?
This qualification covers a wide range of subjects required by someone aspiring to work in the plumbing industry and includes:

  •  - How to organise resources within building services environment
  •  - Domestic hot and cold water system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
  •  - Domestic central heating system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
  •  - Domestic sanitation system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
  •  - Core gas safety principles

    How is the course taught?
    The course is taught via a range of practical activities in the workshop which are supported by theory sessions in the classroom.

    How is the course assessed?
    The course is assessed by written and practical assignments and online exams.
