EAL Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation
Are you completely new to the electrical industry, and looking for the training you need to get started? The EAL Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation is the ideal route for those with little, or no previous electrical experience.
Whether you're fresh out of school and want to become an electrician, or you're an adult learner looking to gain new skills and potentially start a new career route, the EAL qualification is ideal for you.
With the EAL Level 1 qualification, you can expect to learn the basic knowledge and craft skills related to electrical installation.
Please note that the EAL Level 1 qualification does not qualify you as an electrician - the idea with this course is that you gain the qualification to progress further onto higher levels of training.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
What Areas are Covered by the Course?
The EAL Level 1 qualification has both mandatory and optional units.
The mandatory units of this course include health and safety, environmental protection, installation methods, practical craft skills and electrical science.
During your time at the college, you can also take extra optional modules which may include starting work in construction, preparing for an interview, managing your studies, and the opportunity to gain higher grades in maths and English.
Length of Course
This course lasts for 1 year, and includes both theoretical and practical sessions.
Progression/Career Opportunities
Completing this course will allow you to progress on to a Level 2 qualification in electrical installation, which will allow you to work towards becoming a qualified installer.
